A Christmas Interview with Little things with jassy
Hello everyone, today is my final Christmas interview and this time I sat down with Jasmin from Little things with jassy, enjoy!
1. What is it about Christmas that you love?
The way it smells. It’s ridiculously good smell! The tree, all the foods, gingerbread cookies.
I love Karelian hot pot & swede casserole smell combo, with a hint of some gingerbread cookies. That’s the stuff.
I also love about Christmas the times I get to spend with my family, the most wonderful time of the year.
2. What’s your favourite part of Christmas Day?
On Christmas Day, we usually go to my grandpa’s house and he’s hosting a huge Christmas dinner. After eating
the ham he’s prepared and tested since Father’s Day from November, we usually watch ice hockey and play board
games, everyone, together.
3. What’s your favourite Christmas film?
Holiday Affair (1949) black & white film, always gets me.
4. What’s one thing you want for Christmas this year?
We’re currently renovating an apartment we bought, so the only thing I wish for Christmas is that it will all be done
by Christmas haha. The one thing I want is to have Christmas in our new apartment.
5. Best Christmas food to munch?
I must be weird but even though I love the smell of most Christmas foods, I don’t like to eat them. Most of Finnish
Christmas foods are not suitable for a vegan like me and well, I just don’t enjoy Christmas foods.
6. Do you have any traditions?
My husband, my son & I don’t have any own traditions yet. Though, we were thinking about starting our own and eat
tortillas during the Christmas. But as I described in the second question, I believe that the most traditional thing our
family does have is the one when we all get together over at my grandpa’s house. It’s almost 300km away, but definitely
worth the drive.
7. Top 3 Christmas songs?
1. Santa Tell Me by Ariana Grande
2. Winter Wonderland by Rod Stewart & Michael Bublé
3. Baby, It’s Cold Outside by Glee Cast
8. What does Christmas mean to you?
Christmas means to me the time I get to spend with my family. It’s the atmosphere there is. None of my family is religious
so we don’t celebrate spiritual Christmas and we also don’t have money that much to celebrate commercial Christmas. It’s just
all of us, together, sharing the love.
9. Where will you be spending Christmas this year?
I might be at home in Helsinki or in Pori over at my mum’s. Depends on how this whole renovating process goes on!
10. Do you have a Christmas tip for everyone?
I’ve been so bad at Christmas this year, I haven’t even bought the presents yet! Can you imagine? Though my tip would be,
if you’re planning to host your own Christmas dinner this year, just let it go by its own flow. Christmas is not about stress, it’s about
the love and relaxation. There’s way too much time to stress about everything later.
